Brilliant Lady. Virgin Voyages

Ship

I'm sailing a 12 day itinerary aboard the Brilliant Lady.  This is Richard Branson latest iteration in his 4 vessel cruise ship venture.

The Vibe & Design

Unlike traditional cruises that feel like floating hotels, the Brilliant Lady (and her sisters) feels more like a boutique hotel in South Beach.

Adults Only: No kids, no mascots, no buffet lines.

The Design: Expect sleek, modern interiors by world-renowned designers, a lot of "Virgin Red," and those iconic hammock-clad balconies.

There are 20+ eateries all included in the price. Also included is wifi and gratuities.  A stark contrast to other entry level cruises.

I've been to Curacao and today Aruba.  On the way tonight to Cartagena Colombia.

Oh and I am enjoying that Scarlet hammock that all balcony rooms have.

I bet you didn't know there is a Ritz Carlton on Aruba's Beach front.  It was  quite nice by the pool.

Food on this ship is like nothing I have experienced on other cruise lines.  There is NO main dinning room.  Instead there are about a dozen actual restaurants requiring reservations.  Food is included in the cruise price, but you will wait if you show up without a reservation.  Fortunately for solo travelers, there is a service each evening that will override the res list and admit you to any restaurant at 6 PM. I have added some photos of last nights dinner at the Test Kitchen.  Here you sit with others and menu consisting of 5 courses changes during the cruise..  It is really unusual and quite tasty.  Shown is a serving of Smoked Salmon.

Arrived in Cartagena this am and jumped on a excursion to the old town and the fort .
